Over the last 10 years the Old Time Dance Club has grown in popularity and is now
one of the largest in the South of England. We meet every Monday afternoon at Normandy
Village Hall between 1.45 – 4.15 pm and enjoy the company of 50-
The Club specialises in Old Time Dances of all ages and as well as the Traditional Old Time Dances we do on occasions teach some of the newer Classical Old Time Dances providing they reasonable closely conform to the Old Time technique. Recent dances taught have included the Sanrio Saunter 2010, Ava Rose Gavotte and the Shimmering Waltz (2011).
We also try to keep up the tradition of set dances and regularly dance the Lancers, Caledonians, Quadrilles, D'Alberts etc.
We hold Old Time Dances during the year with interesting programmes and the very
best musicians and we also run 2-
Because our programmes are varied we have been able to attract many sequence dancers to our Club which is a great advantage and offers our visitors a more relaxed afternoon without the stress of continual new dances. There is also the opportunity to have regular practice of the dances taught so hopefully you don't forget them.
The Club and its Members support the Old Time Dance Society and many of its holiday events. Richard is a past Chairman and Treasurer of the Society and Joyce is a past Chairman so we have been actively involved in Promoting Old Time Dancing.
